Chesapeake Energy: Cheapskate of 2009

A big truck barrels down a country road.

You have to admire companies that give gifts out of the goodness of their hearts. Or do you? Chesapeake Energy, a major player in PA's natural gas industry, and thus one of PA's destroyers, has seen fit to donate a big gas guzzling SUV to an agency serving the people of Bradford, Sullivan, and Tioga counties in NE PA. But this vehicle, a Ford Escape, is not a new model. It is vintage 2005. Couldn't they have at least sprung for a 2009 vehicle? Just another example of throwing a little bone to people to make them think Chesapeake cares about them. Actually this agency which provides mental health services and drug and alcohol treatment will need more and more help as the area takes on boomtown qualities and the need for services expands by leaps and bounds.

12/31/09 - Add wanton polluter to the Cheapskate title. Of course, they're still running tests to determine what killed the trees.

This cheating, lying, polluting, and thieving (in so many ways, including using eminent domain to rob people of their property and securities)corporation littered Fort worth in the Barnett Shale with million$$ worth of various ads and commercials to thank the shale (most people know they were referring to themselves)for jobs and "better education". Their cheater in chief then made a big deal a couple of months ago when he donated USED computers to the urban FWISD. Thanks for recycling, Cheap-sapeake. Don't break your arm patting yourself on the shoulder b/c you'll need them to beat up and steal/rob from folks living (you're "playing" but PEOPLE LIVE THERE)on other shale(s).
