Turnpike Rd., Brooklyn, Pa., Susquehanna County, Pa.. Cabot Gas Site; Fracking several wells. Look up www.marcellusgas.org for any particulars like amounts of waste from every gas well and pad, production amounts, violations; gathered and organized from the DEP site.
Vera Scroggins made this video yesterday. She knows this area very well and tells us the names of the families who have farms and homes there. She points out a dairy farm right next to the well pad. The noise and chaos at this site gives you a very realistic sense of what an industrial site is like. What if this were next to your home? It is insane.
I had trouble just hearing it on my computer- it's not the kind of noise, dust, and truck traffic you want anywhere near you; let alone on those tiny country roads. It's incredibly sad about the multi-generational farming families who don't WANT the drilling and compressor station. That Vera has so much courage- going right up to those people and asking questions. The one guy that told her they'd been fracking for a week seemed kind. It is truly unfortunate that his job has him working around so much air and noise pollution. I don't know what I'd do if this place were next to my home. I think I'd have to cut my losses and move, but it's different when you have the responsibility of crops and livestock. Also, where would you go? What if you're taking care of elderly parents nearby? What about lifelong friends? It must be just plain hell for these folks.May Vera keep fighting the good fight for many years to come!
