Chip Northrup |
Check out this short interview with Chip Northrup, a 30-year veteran of the gas industry in Texas, who now spends a good part of the year in Cooperstown, NY, and is telling all of us about the real truth about the gas industry and its harmful effects on the environment and human health. The interviewer from YNN does a superb job of asking great questions. She obviously had done her homework.

This was a good interview. How many drive-bys per year for fracking? I do not think I could stad the noise pollution of that many trucks zooming by. I am very thankful that they won't be using NUCLEAR BOMBS to get the gas out, as they tried it and- DUH!- it made the gas radioactive and unsuitable to sell (couldn't somebody have PREDICTED that outcome?).Now, let's see- no tax revenue for the state; no distance required from private ponds; speeding trucks spewing diesel fumes and destroying the roads; little distance required from homes;toxic waste around the sites and dumping grounds- what's the problem, people?

Tons of information if you haven't submitted your letter to the NY DEC yet. Today the deadline for submission was moved to January 12th (not sure of the exact date, but extended a month). Thanks, Chip for the link and for all you do to help educate people.

Thank you for the links, Chip. Just got back from Lobby Day in Albany. I met with 3 staffers of 3assemblyman (Graf, Aubry, and Goodell), all from down state. It was a good experience. But the staffers knew almost nothing about hydrofracking. No surprise there, but it is still hard to believe.
Albany rally was a big help.
No big fracking rush in New York

Plenty of time to get this right.
Or just prohibit it in NYS
