In 1930, my greatgrandparents purchased a beautiful farm in Bradford County, PA, in a little hamlet called French Azilum. In the summer, we spent time there, resting, breathing in the fresh air, enjoying the wild flowers, the bright stars and planets on a clear moonlit night, and swimming in the Susquehanna River. If gas drilling is allowed to continue, Bradford County and all of Pennsylvania will be forever changed, ruined beyond repair.

Rachel Maddow Reports on the Gulf Oil Disaster: Deja Vu All Over Again?
Has the oil and gas industry made any improvements in the last 30 years? Yes, says Rachel Maddow, they have! They have improved their profit capabilities, making more money than any other industry in the history of the planet, and they have figured out how to drill deeper and deeper. Any advancements in disaster control or safety techniques? No. That part hasn't been figured out yet. Isn't it too late now for the Gulf of Mexico, the people, the wildlife, the economies of many communities, the livelihoods of thousands of people, all the ecosystems impacted? Isn't it too late? I think it probably is.

Offshore we have the biggest known oil spoil in history. Don't forget to review the onshore disasters which uses toxic chemicals for drilling which are known to end up in your drinking water near natural gas drilling. Red onshore Alert: Spread the word, humans, wildlife and aquatic life are being legally polluted by toxic chemicals while the government and corporations legally loot and pollute as they bulldoze their way across American soils. Citizens must protect themselves, no one is doing this for them. An environmental crime onshore for the sake of "Riches". Offshore we can see via live cam or think we see what happened in the Gulf? Who knows what really happens, we only see what they want us to think happened. We will never know the real truth and we have already seen onshore pollution from drilling. A live underground video cam?

I am with you 100%. Thank you for your response! I think the Gulf oil disaster is more visible (a live cam, for crying outloud!) than land gas wells, and therefore more vivid to the average person. I worry about what is hidden in the earth under our feet much more than the ocean, but everything is precious and equally vital to our lives and the planet. The corporate media has used this disaster for their own purposes, too. Perhaps they can get more compliance now and people will sign more land leases.
